After all day in bus, and long way on foot with tackle to get to know, that ferry don't cross Windermere Lake, because was too strong wind this day, and understand why that lake has call WINDermere... I found some room. Tired, but not for sit down - I want to the place in the East, which Wait me - Esthwaite Water - in last hour before darkness to took some spinning from banks yet! All I got this day was very longed, and so fantastic bed :)

Next day before anyone else I stay nearly the door of reception to buy ticket. Wind didn't think to stop - like myself. Quickly after got some information about pike fishing there, at 8 I sit in boat and go in one of bay. That was a hard day, spend on fight with... Wind, which get me off from 2 of my hold boat anchors! Best idea was to leave baits in center of bay and go to the bank (under wind!) with open bows of reels.

After late dinner, and watch beauty of snowed mountain. I was saw some activation on surface. As I know about nice trout in this water, and got frozen I decided to try spinning. Few cast, and I felt some little try of fish, but not attack. I changed my bite for some smaller one with attractive adds on treble and some leads to make long casts, as fishes didn't like boat. I changed place as well, nonstop watching water. And on center of lake, just a sec, before get bite off water I get one, very strong one, nice rainbow. My first lake rainbow :) sequel ->.

"Rainbow fishing" - that's for me really sport fishing of all types. To catch fish you need to many times change your fly, think about this what is going on in the water, and up of them too. Weather, time of year/day, temperature, wind, type of line, one fly, or maybe tandem, from surface or maybe deep, slowly or quickly?? etc. etc.

And Bang! :) That nice unexpected Bang when you taken the bite. Long fight as a rainbows are really strong fishes and without net can give you some problems to take, many time run out of your hands :)

Try long leaders with two flys (can be same type but different sizes) as you never know which will better for fish. I was seen one time fish as look on first my buzzer (dropper), but attack second one..

Many fishes like to fallow fly, so expect bite every time, and to the end.

Good luck, and have fun!

Kuros.
