My fishing in the UK

Hello!

You are very welcome on website about fishing in England. You can find here many photographs with many species of fish, and way to catch them (coarse and fly fishing - especially salmon, my major reason of all trips I did last few years) Detailed descriptions what bite I was use, where I fish and how I got these beauties.

Most of descriptions on this web site apply to lakes and rivers from Lancashire (North-West England), especial River Lune. From entrance in Heysham by Skerton and Halton to club water - LDAA in Caton - very interesting, long and diversify beat.

A lot of space took me to write about River Ribble running by Preston. It's wonderful alternative for River Lune, because you can fish there without tickets, not only on fly, and often from both sides of river. Additionally there is more choice of spices to fish. Apart of salmonidaes you can try you lucky with big barbels and chubs. You can find there some nice pikes and carp, but those not too often.

For real admirers of carp fishing is better to go to Wyreside Lakes and Borwick Lakes. First choice need booking before you go, but give you very good chances to spend time very well. On Borwick you need just day ticket, but good knowledge of water too.

Not only Lancashire is my fever. At winter time I love to visit Esthwaite Water. Beauty place, with boats to let. Generally it's water full of rainbow trout's anglers, but for me - only pike and spinning. There are some really fat ones. Trout diet keep them in very good condition :)

For game fishers not only Cumbria is the place. In the UK you have plenty of smaller and bigger lakes full of trouts. Ones more hidden (Bank Fly Fishery) than another (Cleveley Mere Lake), but all with good access and shops with any thing you need to fish.

In many rivers you can find wild trouts, and that's what some of as like best. For me is not better place than River Lune - it can be, because of fact, that it's very nearly to my home :) - and that's where I start my fishing season from few long years...

Of course not only trouts, but sea-trouts and salmons like to come it to this river at spring time too. Just don't think to catch so many - not before August. Best time is Autumn with fly in Skerton, spinning in Halton after rain and LDAA with both technique - depends of river level.

If you impatient to get first experiences with silver, fresh salmon, make trip to Diglis - River Severn (nearly Worcester), day ticket water. That's very worth option at the beginning of year. Just book early in Allan's fishing shop - centre of town.

After all this so popular species I did some especial escapades to explore sea-trout and catfish night fishing. And all I can say is that this are one of my really ones.
You need to have very good knowledge of river, well cast technique and know when sewins come in; to catch them.
And catfishing give you loads of adrenaline at time of explosive takes, and runs in darkness - always be close to you rod pols :)

Break the rod!
